Intermountain Healthcare and Latinos In Action have partnered up to provide students with the opportunity to get trained as Health Screeners and to be certified using MIDAS microcredentials. This microcredential provides a means to develop skills and a knowledge base for addressing social determinants of health, pre-diabetes, high blood pressure, and depression. Learners gain content expertise and necessary skills to successfully perform health screenings, interpret the collected data, and become health advocates.
Latinos In Action
Latinos in Action collaborates with MIDAS and Intermountain Healthcare to train high school students in how to screen for Social Determinants of Health. When they demonstrate competency, they earn a microcredential. More than 600 students have completed the program. In the video on this page, a high school junior reflects on her experience earning this microcredential.
